Good posture is important for good health, it can avoid unnecessary stress to the joints and soft
tissues which can lead to pain, stiffness, and loss of function. It is vital to have good postural
awareness and avoid poor postural habits.
Physiotherapists can help individuals explore a range of
postures and movements, enhancing their ability to adapt to different activities and environments
comfortably. Posture education will include an evaluation of sitting and standing posture. This will assist in
determining what types of treatment intervention and education are appropriate.
Posture education
may also include ergonomic advice concerning desk height, keyboard type and position, and chair type
and adjustments. This will help set the patient up for the most efficient use of their bodies during
activities at work and any activity requiring sitting. Symptoms of poor posture include
posture-related pain and stiffness, muscle aches, fatigue etc.
We aim at three different areas to
address postural issues.
